Joseph F. Robinson of Wyoming passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford after a long battle with cancer.  He was 60.


Joseph F. Robinson of Wyoming passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford after a long battle with cancer.  He was 60.

 Joe was born on June 3, 1951, in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York, son of the late Peter A. Robinson, Sr. and Helen S. Robinson.

He was a remodeling and home improvement contractor, operating as American Home Work since 2002.

Joe’s passion was music.  He began singing and playing guitar as a child.  He played with Sounds Unlimited during his high school years.  His participation in the 1st Dover All-Stars Reunion Concert marked his return to music.  Beginning in 2007, he performed with the classic rock band, The DRAW as lead vocalist and rhythm guitar player, appearing in venues throughout Delaware, Eastern Shore of Maryland, and southeastern Pennsylvania.

 He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of Union Lodge #7 A.F. & A.M.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lori Benvin of Bayville, Long Island, NY, and his father-in-law, John R. Holland of Petersburg.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jacquelyn Robinson; brother, Peter A. Robinson, Jr. and Barbara Robinson of Camden; mother-in-law, Joan Holland of Petersburg; sisters-in-law Carolyn Burris and Robert T. Burris, Jr. of Sandtown, Jeanne and David Tofts of Newark; brother-in-law Phillip Benvin of Bayville, NY, and nieces and nephews, Kim and Chris Perry of Oakton, VA, Robin and Michael Hunter of Springfield, VA, Robert T. Burris, III, Kelsey Burris and Tristin Burris of Sandtown, DE, Spencer Tofts, Webster Tofts, Regan Tofts, and Hayden Tofts of Newark, DE, Jeff Krawchuck, Michael Krawchuck, Melissa Krawchuck and Tara Benvin of Bayville, NY.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 21 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier.  Burial will be private.
