Delaware State Police Detectives have arrested Kenny’aun J. Baldwin, 21, of Dover in connection with the robbery of the Cheswold Shore Stop that occurred on Nov. 28.


Delaware State Police Detectives have arrested Kenny’aun J. Baldwin, 21, of Dover in connection with the robbery of the Cheswold Shore Stop that occurred on Nov. 28.

This incident happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 as a 31-year-old employee of the Shore Stop, located in the 700 block of Main Street in Cheswold, and two other men – a 51-year-old Clayton man and a 31-year-old Dover man – were standing outside of the store, police said.

The subjects were then approached by a male suspect who was armed with a rifle. The suspect ordered all three victims into the store at which point he demanded cash from two of the victims. After obtaining money from one of the two victims, he then ordered the employee to provide him with money from the safe and cash register. The employee complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect. The suspect fled from the store in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.

Through further investigation and investigative leads, Troop 3 detectives were able to connect Kenny’aun J. Baldwin to the robbery, police said.

Baldwin was located and arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 21 by Troop 3 and charged with two counts of robbery first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony.

He was arraigned and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $35,000 Secured Bond.
