  • Hundreds of people lined Loockerman St. in front of City Hall for "A Capital Christmas" tree lighting ceremony and caroling.
    "3-2-1...Merry Christmas!" was the cheer as city officials flipped the switch lighting up the fur tree in front of City Hall and all the trees along Loockerman St. from State St. to the post office.
    Christmas caroling started at 6 pm on risers set up on Loockerman and singing extended all the way to The Green were carolers continued to spread the Christmas joy.
    The Kiwanis Club gave out free hot chocolate while the Wesley United Methodist Church put on a live nativity.
