The Delaware Community Foundation will hold grant application assistance workshops for its Fund For Women in Dover on Friday, Dec. 2, and in Wilminton on Friday, Dec. 9.


The Delaware Community Foundation will hold a grant application assistance workshop for its Fund For Women from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Duncan Center, 500 W. Loockerman St., Dover; and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, in the Community Services building, 100 W. 10th St., Room 109, Wilmington.  

The Fund For Women will begin accepting applications for its 2012 grants program on Jan. 2 from Delaware nonprofit agencies with programs relating to the education of girls and women in health, wellness and life skills that lead to future economic self-sufficiency.

Grant awards have provided prenatal care, housing, abuse counseling, legal assistance, medical care, scholarship programs and job training. Financial literacy, arts enrichment, science and sports programs have also been funded. A total of $125,000 in grants was awarded in May to 13 nonprofit organizations.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to participate in one of two upcoming workshops.

Reservations are not required. The workshops will give nonprofit agencies an opportunity to learn about The Fund For Women, understand criteria for the 2012 grants, review the application process, and ask questions.
