Cameron William Burke, 30, died at his home in Dover, DE, on Nov. 24, 2011.
He was born in Atlanta, GA, July 7, 1981, to Sherry Murphy Burke and Terrence C. Burke. While growing up Cameron lived and went to school in Mendham, NJ; Nashville, TN; Avon, CT ; McLean, VA. and Easton, MD. He attended Sts Peter and Paul High School in Easton, MD, and graduated from the Academy at Swift River in Cummington, MA, with the Class of 2000. He attended Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia, and later continued his studies in Culinary Arts at Delaware Tech in Dover, DE. He was employed by the Sheraton and Kent Liquors in Dover, DE.
Cameron is survived by his wife of four years, Erica Roper Burke, and his son, Korbin Charles Burke, both of Dover, his parents Terry and Sherry Burke of Easton, MD, his sister Katherine Burke Johnson and her husband Bruce Johnson, of Beaverdam, VA, his niece Rain Johnson and nephew Henry Johnson as well as loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents Sarah and F. Joseph Murphy of La Plata, MD, and Vivian and Robert Burke of Sunnyside, WA. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Marie and Douglas Roper of Redondo Beach, CA.
Cameron loved his family and friends and enjoyed cooking, reading, computers, music and his cats, but particularly he was devoted to his son.
Friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home in Easton. Burial will be private.
