Michael Devoe Quail of Newark, Delaware, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in New Jersey.  Michael, the oldest of three children, was born on December 13, 1959 in Dover, Delaware to Naomi Quail and the late Charles Stanford . He was 51 years old.

Michael spent his childhood years in Felton, Delaware.  He graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1978.  While in high school he participated in football and wrestling.

He served in the U.S. Marines for four years.  He was employed with Amtrak for 19 years until his untimely passing.

Michael, affectionately called “Big Blue” by his family and friends, loved sports.  He was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan and was a season ticket holder.  He can be found on the Baltimore Ravens website in a picture with Jamal Lewis.  In section 136 at M & T Bank Stadium, he could often be heard with his booming voice yelling, “You gotta block”.  He also loved watching the Bobby Jones show.

Big Blue was a kind person and would give his last to anyone in need. He was a loving “gentle giant”.  Mike was also very meticulous.

Michael leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Naomi Quail, Felton, DE; one brother, Jimmy Quail, Felton, DE; one sister, Ronnita Quail, Magnolia, DE; one half-sister, Kimberly Caldwell, Dover, DE; maternal grandmother, Margaret King, Magnolia, DE; a special friend, Gladys Cirwithian, Newark, DE; a niece whom he raised, Bertina Randall, Dover, DE; three nieces, Latashia, Nilia, and Keira Quail; one nephew, Jaqui Quail; one aunt, Helen Loper; one uncle, Robert Loper, Sr. and a host of cousins and loving friends.
