Elizabeth Anne Mintz Veach (Anne) of Dover died Saturday, November 19, 2011.

Anne was born November 29, 1942 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to the late William Frederick Mintz and Elizabeth Smith Mintz.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC and her Master’s degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.

Anne was a high school guidance counselor for Milford School District, Lake Forest School District and the Capital School District.  Mrs. Veach taught elementary school for a few years in Chesapeake, VA as well as Elizabeth City, NC and Greenville, NC.

She enjoyed music and was a former member of The Delaware Choral Society. Anne was a member and Deacon of The Presbyterian Church of Dover.  She sang in the Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir, the Faithful in Flannel Choir and was a member of the “Bells of Praise.”

Anne loved being outside, participating in God’s creation, she would happily spend time tromping about, often with her dog at her side, whether in the forest, along a creek, or up in the hills and mountains.  She enjoyed listening to and learning from nature.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Guy Harrell Veach of Dover; son, Alan Kent Veach and his wife Diane of Fort Bragg, CA; granddaughter, Ellie Bird Veach; daughter, Margaret Elizabeth “Beth” Meyer and her husband Gregory of Naperville, IL; grandchildren, Lukas Dylan Meyer and Emily Elizabeth Meyer;  and sister, Carol Mintz Evans of Norfolk, VA.

A memorial service was held at The Presbyterian Church of Dover, 54 South State Street, Dover, DE at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2011.
