On August 20, 2011while surrounded by her loving family Elizabeth Ann Davis, beloved wife, Mom, and Mom Mom, passed away. She was born on May 26, 1934 in Chester, PA to James and Madeline Bailey.


On August 20, 2011while surrounded by her loving family Elizabeth Ann Davis, beloved wife, Mom, and Mom Mom, passed away. She was born on May 26, 1934 in Chester, PA to James and Madeline Bailey.

 

Betty, as she was better known to her family and friends, was a member of the Willow Grove Church of God, and worked as a Supervisor in the Motor Vehicle Title Section, and retiring in January of 1982.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, watching her hummingbirds, going to the slots, and being with her family, friends, and grandchildren.

 

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James G. Bailey, and her brother, Donald Ray Bailey of Camden, DE.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Davis; her son, William Davis, and his wife Dawn; her daughter, Carol A. Tuxward, and her husband John, all of Camden, DE.  She also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Zane and Autumn Tuxward, Brad and Kiley Tuxward, Kyle and Harmony Tuxward, William James Davis, Elissa Rae Davis, and Courtney Paige Davis; and her 9 great-grandchildren, Lillee, Gracie, Graham, Morgan, Christian, Clayton, Vera, Jadyn, and Parker. She is also remembered by her brother, James L. Bailey, and his wife Shirley; two nieces, one great nephew and two great nieces, as well as a host of other family and friends.

 

A gathering for Betty was held Friday, August 26,  at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave, Wyoming, DE; from 10 to 11 a.m., services followed immediately thereafter.  Burial was at Oddfellows cemetery.
