The Dover Police are looking for a New Jersey man in response to a domestic assault reported Saturday.

The Dover Police responded Saturday to a domestic assault at 1061 S. Little Creek Road, Dover East Mobile Home Park. The 23-year-old female resident returned home from work with her 22-year-old boyfriend to find her estranged husband, Jorge Arellano, 32, of New Jersey, waiting. Upon their arrival the suspect began strangling the female victim. He then struck the male victim in the head with a pointed weapon he fashioned from a metal star wall decoration, which police said he made while waiting for the victim.

There were two children (the victim and suspect’s) in the residence at the time who were not harmed.

The male victim was treated at Kent General Hospital for a scalp laceration that required several staples to close. The female victim did not require medical treatment.

The suspect fled prior to police arrival. Warrants are on file for the suspect. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips can also be submitted to law enforcement through tip lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or on-line at www.tipsubmit.com
