Kenneth L. Hunt, 66, of Felton, DE, formerly of various hunting grounds in Delaware, Maryland and Maine, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and dog Cocoa, on Friday, May 20, 2011, at his daughter’s home.
He was born in Milford, DE, son of the late Della Hunt Roe and Lloyd Hunt.  He graduated from Sudlersville High School in 1963.  He began his family in Maryland and moved to Smyrna, Delaware where his life was centered around family, horses, and the great outdoors.  An avid hunter, he achieved his dream by accomplishing his Black Bear Guide camp in Maine for 15 years returning to Delaware six years ago to be with family.
He is survived by his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Mary Ethel Hunt; daughter, Wendy Nerad and her husband Mike of Felton; son, Van Hunt of Smyrna and five grandsons, Bradley, Eli, Jeb, Ethan, and Michael; a brother, Ronald Hunt and his children, Marsha and Rodney, of Port Charlotte, Florida.
Ken’s final wishes would not have been possible had it not been for the compassion and support of Dr. Joseph Parise and Dr. Michelle Domenick and Season’s Hospice, especially nurse Paulette, who brought him home for his final journey, keeping him comfortable, providing loving caring, and becoming part of the family.   For our sincere appreciation, we request expressions of sympathy be made in his name to Season’s Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
Funeral services will honor his wishes and be private.   Local arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapels. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
