Madeline R. Lenox, 88, of Georgetown, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Milford Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 19, 1923, in Camden, N.J., Mrs. Lenox was the daughter of the late Reilly Miller and Madeline Regina Connors Miller.
In her early years, she sang and performed professionally in the Philadelphia area with many big band era bands, including the Warner Haines Orchestra. However, being devoted to her husband of 60 years and raising a family was the most important chapter of her life.
Mrs. Lenox was a devout and active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Georgetown. For more than 25 years, she was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in the Georgetown area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only child, Ellen Thompson, in Nov. 2010.
Mrs. Lenox is survived by her husband, Albert S. Lenox Jr.; a son-in-law, William Thompson; five grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Carl and Adam Thompson, and Rachel Bulris; 13 great-grandchildren, all who have wonderful memories of her love and kindness; a step-daughter, Joann Erenhouse; and two step-grandsons, Ryan and Chad Erenhouse.
