We’ve been getting loads of photos from readers featuring their pets. So inspired by this and some of the staff’s obsession with the Westminster Dog Show, we turned to animals this week and listed our favorite famous animal, what breed of dog we would be, and what wild animal we’d most like to encounter.

We’ve been getting loads of photos from readers featuring their pets dressed up, both for Valentine’s Day and for no reason other than that we asked for them. So inspired by this and (some of the staff’s) obsession with the Westminster Dog Show, we turned to animals this week and listed our favorite famous animal, what breed of dog we would be, and what wild animal we’d most like to encounter.

Famous animal: Jaws from “Jaws: The Revenge.” This version of Jaws actually tracked down Chief Brody’s family on vacation; that’s a smart shark
Breed of dog: A cross between a bulldog and shih tzu ... a tip of the cap to Jeff Daniels.
Wild animal: ManBearPig. It’s half man, half bear and half pig ... it’s the single biggest threat to our planet

Doug Denison, staff writer
Famous animal(s): The snakes, from the movie “Snakes on a Plane”
Breed of dog: A Jack Russell terrier, or a bloodhound
Wild animal: A Liger

Famous animal: Garfield. My all-time favorite comic. I would make sure I read it last on Sundays because it was the best.
Breed of dog: A boxer. Nobody wants to mess with them and they are adorable, a great combination.
Wild animal: If it’s really wild, you would see me running in the other direction.

Sarika Jagtiani, staff writer
Famous animal(s): Kermit the Frog (obviously) and Animal, the drummer in Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem Band
Breed of dog: Almost any that gets to play, sleep and hang out with their loved ones all day. But probably a Boston terrier. Saucy, stubborn and sweet, and I love the tuxedo.
Wild animal: Elephant
