Parks and Recreation offering Bootcamp Blast
The city of Dover Parks and Recreation Department is offering Bootcamp Blast from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturdays, Dec. 4 to 18, at the Pitts Center, Dover.
The dynamic workout burns fat and tones the body fast. Participants will experience five minutes of kickboxing, cardio and sport-style drills, then five more minutes of supercharged weight training to sculpt each muscle group.
After 30 minutes of energizing circuit training the group will end with floor work focusing on abs, hips and glutes.
The activity fee is $15.

Lunchtime yoga and pilates class starts Dec. 2
The city of Dover Parks and Recreation Department is offering Lunchtime Yoga and Pilates from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Dec. 2 to 30, at the Pitts Center, Dover.
The 30-minute class features intense toning and stretching, and will tighten your core, arms and legs while de-stressing your mind.
The activity fee is $25, and participants are asked to bring a mat and water.

Share the Holiday Spirit 5K to be held Dec. 4
Tri Sports Events will host the Share the Holiday Spirit 5K Run/Walk and Holiday Cookie Contest in memory of Laura Gondeck at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Silver Lake Park, Washington Street, Dover.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and costs $25 per person. The fee will be waived for $100 in donations, and registration is free for children ages 8 and younger that run in the Kiddie K race. Proceeds benefit the Elizabeth W. Murphey School.
Non-perishable food donations will be accepted and donated to local homeless shelters. Participants also may bring a batch of their favorite holiday cookies to be judged for prizes in best tasting and most decorative categories.
Race participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, and post-race refreshments and awards will be provided.
Awards will be presented to runners for overall male and female; first-, second- and third-place male and female in 10-year age groups from 14 and younger to 70 and older; and top-three male and female walkers. All Kiddie K finishers receive a medal.

FOOTBALL
Firefighter game to benefit Toys for Tots
The Third Annual Toys for Tots Flag Football Game will begin at noon (gates open at 11 a.m.) at Smyrna High School Football Stadium.
The game will see the Smyrna/Clayton Police and Hartly Firefighters take on the Clayton Firefighters.
New, unwrapped toys or monetary donations will be accepted for game admittance. All proceeds benefit the United States Marines annual Toys for Tots program.

HUNTING
SLT Fishing Club to host turkey shoot Dec. 5
The Silver Lake Tavern Fishing Club will host a turkey shoot at noon Sunday, Dec. 5, at 1111 Crystal Road, Hartly.
Participants should use a 12-gauge only with no scope and no barrel length restriction. The club will provide the shells.
First-, second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-place trophies will be awarded at the end of the season.
The cost is $2 per round or $5 for a money round. A 50/50 also will be available for $1 per box.
