A Clayton man stands accused of rape and assault following a Nov. 27 domestic violence incident involving a woman and a child.

State police have arrested Jose A. Espinoza-Garcia, 25, and charged him with first degree rape, second and third degree assault, strangulation, unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.

The crimes allegedly occurred between the hours of 6 and 11:16 p.m. at a Clayton residence.

Espinoza-Garcia was remanded to the James T. Vaughn Correctional in lieu of an $80,500 secured bond.
