Lyle Rich Dabson, 73, of Dover, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Born Jan. 21, 1937, in Ridgely, Md., Mr. Dabson was the son of the late Alvah Dabson and Margaret Sorden Dabson.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958, and joined the Dover Police Department in 1959, retiring as a lieutenant after 14 years. He had worked in sales for Lowes before becoming a real estate agent, most recently working for ReMax Avenues in Dover.
Mr. Dabson was active in the Lions Club and had served on the Delaware Board of Funeral Services. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Dabson, and a sister, Irene Cohee.
Mr. Dabson is survived by his wife of 51 years, Toni Dabson of Dover; a son, Chris Dabson of DeBary, Fla.; a daughter, Lisa Swift and her husband Bill of Oakland, Md.; a sister, Marie Gibson of Goldsboro, Md.; and two grandchildren,
Taylor and Mackenzie Swift.
