A Dover woman was arrested last week after a lengthy investigation and charged with illegally dealing prescription drugs.

On Nov. 18 officers from the Dover Police Department’s Drug, Vice and Organized Crime Unit and Safe Streets Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Cheryl D. Metz, 59, in the unit block of Patriot Drive in Bicentennial Village, according to Lt. Alan Rachko.

During a three-month drug investigation, Rachko said undercover officers made several purchases of prescription tablets from Metz at her residence. At the time of her arrest Metz allegedly was in possession of Xanex tablets, and also was wanted on an outstanding warrant for criminal impersonation.

Metz was presented at Justice of the Peace Court No. 7 in Dover for a bond hearing and released on a $9,000 unsecured bond, pending a preliminary hearing in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
