Thomas “Bebop” E. Pearson, 93, of Hartly, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at home with his family.

Born Sept. 27, 1927, in Hartly, Mr. Pearson was the son of the late Thomas Pearson and Pearl Thompson Pearson.

He was a member of the Hartly Lions Club and Hartly United Methodist Church. He also was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II with service in North Africa and Italy. He worked at the Delaware Department of Transportation for many years, and enjoyed farming, fox hunting and driving his farm tractor.

Mr. Pearson is survived by his wife, Dorothy B. Pearson of Hartly; two sons, Thomas E. Pearson Jr. and his wife Lucy of Dover, and Ronald J. Pearson and his wife Sharron of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Clifton “Dicky” Pearson of Georgetown and Donald “Stoney” Pearson of Dover; two sisters, Lulu Durkin of Newark and Edith Frances Pearson of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Tina, R.J., Ben and Sarah; and two great grandchildren, Pearson and Makenna.
