The boys and girls cross country seasons for 2010 came to a close Nov. 13 when the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association State Championship Meet was held at Brandywine Creek State Park.
The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association State Championship Meet in cross country was held Nov. 13 at Brandywine Creek State Park, Wilmington.
Area schools joined with other teams in the state to compete in boys and girls Division I and Division II races throughout the day.
In the boys Division I race, Caesar Rodney High School was the top local finisher in fifth place with 139 points, followed by Dover, which had 260 points and came in 10th place.
For the Division I girls, only one local team placed in Caesar Rodney, which like the boys team placed fifth, but with 155 points.
Polytech High School was the top local team in the boys Division II race with 298 points, good enough for ninth place. It was followed by Lake Forest High School, 560 points, 19th place; and Saint Thomas More Preparatory, 622 points, 22nd place.
In the girls Division II contest, Polytech was the top finisher in 11th place with 320 points, followed by 15th place Lake Forest with 426 points and Saint Thomas More Preparatory, 26th place with 664 points.
