Hugh D. Leahy Jr., senior vice president for Southern Delaware announced Nov. 10 the Delaware Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Board for Kent County will award a total of $10,000 in grants in 2011 to one or more schools and qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in Kent County.

Leahy Jr., senior vice president for Southern Delaware announced Nov. 10 the Delaware Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Board for Kent County will award a total of $10,000 in grants in 2011 to one or more schools and qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in Kent County. Applications will be considered for programs that provide treatment or support for Kent County adolescents from ages 12 to 18 years who are struggling with depression or substance abuse.

Each grant request must be submitted on a 2011 Youth Philanthropy Board for Kent County Grant Application Form which can be downloaded from the DCF’s website, www.delcf.org, or obtained by calling 856-4393 or emailing afrazier@delcf.org.

Completed applications must be postmarked by Jan. 7, 2011 or delivered to the Delaware Community Foundation by this date. Grant recipients will be announced in April 2011.
