Lunchtime yoga and pilates class starts Nov. 2
The city of Dover Parks and Recreation Department is offering Lunchtime Yoga and Pilates from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 2 to 30, at the Pitts Center, Dover.
There will be no class on Nov. 11 and 25.
The 30-minute class features intense toning and stretching, and will tighten your core, arms and legs while de-stressing your mind.
The activity fee is $25, and participants are asked to bring a mat and water.

Workout conditions muscles and increases fitness
The city of Dover Parks and Recreation Department is offering Insanity from 6:50 to 7:35 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 2 to 30, at the Pitts Center, Dover.
The dynamic workout will challenge and tone the body, and burn fat. Participants will experience intervals of kickboxing, cardio, sport style drills and supercharged weight training to sculpt each muscle group. The core muscles will be worked to exhaustion.
The activity fee is $25.

Kickboxing class to be held at the Pitts Center
The city of Dover Parks and Recreation Department is offering Interval Kickboxing from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Nov. 1 to 29, at the Pitts Center, Dover.
The class will work in five-minute intervals of kickboxing and weight training. It will rev up a participants’ metabolism and burn fat.
After 30 minutes of energizing kickboxing combos combined with weight training, the class will end with floor work.
The activity fee is $25, and participants should bring a mat and hand weights.

Parks and Recreation offering new yoga class
The city of Dover Parks and Recreation Department is offering Stressless and Fitness Yoga from 6:50 to 7:35 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Nov. 1 to 29, at the Pitts Center, Dover.
The program incorporates yoga techniques that tone the body, meditation for total body relaxation, and stretching for strengthening and toning the whole body.
The activity fee is $25.

The Delaware Sabres 14U girls softball team will hold tryouts for the 2011 season on Sunday, Oct. 31, at Big Oak Park, Big Oak Road, south of Smyrna.

Hunters’ Night Out planned for Oct. 29
Felton Community Fire Company’s Second Annual Hunter’s Night Out is set for 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6) Friday, Oct. 29, at the Felton Fire House. The event includes a dinner of oyster sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, cole slaw, cheese, pickles, and homemade deer track ice cream, followed by a continuous drawing of tickets for items on the hunter’s luck table, and the raffle for 10 guns and several big-ticket items. There also is a 50/50 drawing toward the end of the evening and a door prize.
This year there will be a special raffle of pink items with half of the profit going to the American Cancer Society. This is a new raffle, with the winning ticket receiving a Remington 20-gauge model 870 express compact in mossy oak pink cameo, an Excalibur cross bow, SHE outdoor hunting apparel and accessories. The estimated total retail value of this raffle is $1,350. for the raffle are $10 each or five for $40. Winners do not have to present to win the pink raffle or the 10 guns.
Tickets are $35, $65 per couple, or $240 for a table of eight. The event is expected to sell out, so organizers advise purchasing tickets before the event.
