James R. Paris, 75, of Dover, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at home with his family.

Born Feb. 4, 1935, in Leighton, Pa., he was the son of the late Clarence Paris and Brace Hawn Paris.

Mr. Paris was a retired U.S.A.F. SMSGT load master with the Meritorious Service Medal for 26 years. He attended Capital City Church of Christ, and enjoyed NASCAR and RVing, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Paris.

Mr. Paris is survived by his wife of 55 years, June M. Paris of Dover; two sons and their wives, Richard J. and Rhonda Record Paris, and Rick L. and Kathy Bennett Paris, all of Dover; a brother and his wife, Charles A. and Betty Jane Harbold of Williamsport, Pa.; and a sister and her husband, Helen L. and Richard E. Harbold of Harrisburg, Pa.

He also is survived by eight grandchildren, Brent Paris, Heather Billger, Steven Bennett, Brian Paris, Eric Paris, Joshua Paris, Bethany Paris and Zachary Paris; and three great-grandchildren, Talan Bennett, Gavin Billger and Kami Billger.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Capital City Church of Christ, 86 W. Lebanon Road, Dover, DE 19901, in Mr. Paris’ name.
