The Delaware’s Division of Public Health has scheduled statewide influenza vaccination clinics beginning Sunday, Oct. 3, which are primarily for Delawareans without a health care provider or whose insurance does not cover flu shots.


In its continuing effort to ensure all Delawareans have access to flu vaccinations, Delaware’s Division of Public Health has scheduled statewide influenza vaccination clinics beginning Sunday, Oct. 3, which are primarily for Delawareans without a health care provider or whose insurance does not cover flu shots.

The vaccine provided at DPH clinics provides protection against influenza strains expected this year, including the H1N1 strain. Medicare Part B and donations are accepted.

“Vaccination continues to be the best protection from the flu, so we continue to encourage everyone to get their flu shot,” said Dr. Karyl Rattay, DPH director. “This protects us individually but also protects those around us, especially those who are more vulnerable, such as children, the elderly, and people with compromised immune systems.”

According to DPH, everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine each year. Adults and children 9 years of age and older are welcome at public community clinic locations. The following are Kent County clinics:
