Walter Deane Prahl, 64, of Camden, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010.
Friends of the late Walter Deane Prahl, 64, of Camden, may call on the family beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where services will be held at 2 p.m.
Mr. Prahl died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center.
Born July 18, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of Walter and Ketera Prahl.
Mr. Prahl joined the U.S. Navy in 1965 and honorably served a tour of duty of just over four years. It was there he found a special kinship with the open water, an admiration for the sea, and developed a great love of sailing, going so far as to eventually become a duly licensed captain.
He also enjoyed woodworking and made his living as a carpenter for many years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Nathaniel Deane Prahl.
Mr. Prahl is survived by his daughter, Shannon Elaine Abel; and five loving grandchildren, Jordan, Brett, Wyatt, Mae and Bryce.
