Delaware State University exhibition band also will play.
Lake Forest’s 2010 Tournament of Bands will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Lake Forest High School football stadium in Felton.
Twelve half-time performances will occur between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The Delaware State University Marching Band, known for its high-stepping, energetic style, headlines the evening as the exhibition band. Eleven Delaware and Maryland high schools will compete for trophies and bragging rights.
“Our field show competition is a fun evening of lively sound, bright colors, and marching designs unfolding on our field,” said Carol Starke, assistant band director. “Our low-cost admission buys three hours of music, so it’s a great family night.”
Lake Forest High School is located at 5423 Killens Pond Road, 1 mile east of Route 13. Tickets go on sale at the gate beginning at 4 p.m. Ticket prices are $5 each, with children younger than age 12 admitted for free. Sandwiches, snacks, baked goods and beverages will be sold at the concessions stand. Programs also will be sold.
The event is sponsored by the Lake Forest High School Band Boosters. Proceeds benefit Lake Forest High School’s marching and concert bands.
