Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., is accepting applications for United States service academy nominations.

Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., has announced he is accepting applications for United States service academy nominations from students who are residents of Delaware.

Carper said he encourages students interested in attending U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy or U.S. Military Academy to apply for a nomination through his office.

“Our nation's first-rate service academies offer students a unique opportunity to obtain an excellent education, serve their country and gain valuable leadership skills that will guide them in their future,” Carper said.

To be considered for a congressional nomination, students must meet all of the general requirements of their academy of choice and complete an application package. Students may obtain the application package by sending a letter of interest to Carper’s Dover office. The completed application package must be postmarked by Oct. 15, and can be delivered or mailed to any of Carper’s Delaware offices.

Their locations are:

301 N. Walnut St., Suite 102L-1, Wilmington, DE 19801 500 W. Loockerman St., Suite 470, Dover, DE 19901 12 The Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947
