Dover Police have arrested three Smyrna residents in connection with a July 26 shooting at the Holiday Inn, 561 N. DuPont Highway, Dover.

Police responded at 4:15 a.m. to find a 32-year-old male victim who had been shot three times in the arm leg and abdomen. The suspects allegedly entered the victim’s hotel room in an attempt to rob him and another subject in the room, said police spokesman Capt. Tim Stump.

One of the suspects, identified as Deric Cannon, 25, of the 100 block of Lawn Drive, Smyrna, allegedly entered the room armed with a handgun and a struggle ensued, leading to the victim being shot. Cannon and the other two suspects — Amanda Lemon, 27, of the 100 block of Lawn Drive, Smyrna, and Christina Collison of the 300 block of Paul Drive, Smyrna — fled in a vehicle and were apprehended by a Delaware State trooper just south of Smyrna, Stump said.

All three were charged with first-degree assault, two counts of first-degree attempted robbery, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, first-degree reckless endangering, receiving stolen firearm and second-degree conspiracy.

Cannon also was found to be wanted out of Maryland on drug related charges and was charged with being a fugitive from another state.

Cannon, Lemon and Collison were committed to the Department of Corrections in default of $90,000 secured bond.
