Sick of the fair? Opt for a lantern tour of The Green or see Real Diamond, a Neil Diamond tribute band, at Fire & Ice.

Lantern tours continue with stroll on The Green
The Green was the town center of Dover, the site of markets and fairs, suffragists and abolitionists, soldiers and slaves, lawmakers and lawbreakers. The First State Heritage Park offers visitors to see it by lantern light and pick up some historically insight with a tour at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 30.
Historical interpreters dressed in colonial attire relate the stories of historic Dover, including tales of the most infamous resident of Dover’s jail and the only Loyalist executed in Delaware during the Revolution, the legendary Caesar Rodney, devastating fires, tragic love and the auctioning of slaves on the steps of the Old State House.
Admission is $5, and the tour begins in front of the Biggs Museum of American Art, 406 Federal St., Dover. Tour space is limited and advance reservations are suggested. For reservations, call 739-9194. For more information, visit www.destateparks.com/heritagepark.
