John Joseph Posdon, 77, of Ship Bottom, N.J., died at his home Sunday, July 18, 2010.


John Joseph Posdon, 77, of Ship Bottom, N.J., died at his home Sunday, July 18, 2010.

Mr. Posdon was born in Simpson, Pa., on June 30, 1933. He served in the United States Air Force from Jan. 17, 1952, to Jan. 31, 1980. He was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He then continued his career with the State of Delaware until his retirement in August 2000.

Mr. Posdon was a good man to all. Friends both past and present will remember him as humorous and good-hearted. His children will forever remember his unwavering support and patience. And to his wife, Vicki, of 45 years, Mr. Posdon was kind, loyal and loving.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Posdon; children, Douglas Posdon and Amy Posdon Olsen; stepdaughter Leslie Heck; stepson Scott Hazel; sisters Margaret Justice, Marianne Burdick, Dorothy Melouche and Judy Crawford; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Interment was in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, N.J.

Mr. Posdon family would like to thank relatives and friends for their support, and a heartfelt “thank you” to the professionals at Meridian Hospice.
