Jess William Windsor, 43, of Felton, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010.
Friends of the late Jess William Windsor, 43, of Felton, may call on the family at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at the Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where services will be held at 5 p.m.
Mr. Windsor died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.
Born May 4, 1966, at Lockbourne Air Force Base, near Columbus, Ohio, son of William and JoAnn Windsor, now of Hartly.
Mr. Windsor served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for 25 years, attaining the rank of chief master sergeant. He was the chief loadmaster superintendent assigned to the 326th Airlift Squadron at Dover Air Force Base.
He loved to fly, and accumulated more than 6,700 hours of flight time as a loadmaster on both the C-5 and C-17. He was awarded numerous decorations and accolades, to include the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Air Medal and the Aerial Achievement Medal.
Mr. Windsor was a member of the American Legion Post No. 3, Harrington.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Windsor is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Altman Windsor; and five daughters, Lauren Willshire of Dover, Breannon Windsor of Felton, Samantha Windsor of Eatonville, Wash., Krystal Altman of Dover and Kaitlyn Altman of Felton.
He also is survived by two brothers and their wives, Jay and Sharon Windsor of Felton and Scott and Vicki Windsor of Dover; and three nephews, Jonathan Grioli, Zachary and Joshua Windsor.
