Donald Enoch Attix, 76, of Dover, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010.


Friends of the late Donald Enoch Attix, 76, of Dover, may call on the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 and at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Immanuel United Methodist Church, 256 Main St., Cheswold, where services will be held at 11 a.m.

Mr. Attix died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.

Born March 1, 1933, in Dover, he was the son of the late Earl Attix and Mary Masten Attix.

Mr. Attix was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a farmer on his own farm. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, horse racing and loved teasing his grandchildren. He was a member of Silver Lake Fishing Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Isabel Jarman.
Mr. Attix is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gloria Carney Attix of Dover; and three children and their spouses, Susie and Frank Johnson, Donald Jr. and Donna Attix and Tammy and Mike Caldwell, all of Dover.

He also is survived by three brothers and their wives, Billy and Ellen Attix of Dover, Gilbert and Janet Attix and Robert and Carol Attix, all of Clayton; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Emily and Jesse Woodall of Harrington, Thelma Pryor, Mary Joan and Wright Pratt, and Clara Marie Gravett, all of Dover; nine grandchildren, Frankie, T.J. Nicky, Danny, Tina, Krista, Kyle, Ashley and Mikayla; seven great-grandchildren, Sean, Chelsea, Heaven, Daniel Jr., Chloe, Christian and Emma, and one on the way.

Interment will be in the Immanuel Methodist Church Cemetery, Cheswold.
