Peter Malinky, 89, of Clearfield, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at the Knickerbocker Villa, Clearfield.

Born in May 5, 1920, in Kellytown, Pa., he was the son of the late Max Malinky and Elizabeth Siemen Malinky.

Mr. Malinky was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served aboard the USS Bailey. He was a life member of the VFW Post No. 842 of Curwensville, Pa.

Mr. Malinky worked in the coalfields of west-central Pennsylvania for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace-Ellen McCracken Malinky on Sept. 13, 1992; and by a son, Peter Malinky Jr. in 1972.

Mr. Malinky is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mona and Frank Dolen of Hyde, Pa.; and three sons and two daughters-in-law, Franklin and Noy Malinky of Dover, Jeffrey and Marcelle Malinky of Gardiner, Maine, and James Malinky of Augusta, Maine; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Private funeral services are planned.

Interment will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery, Ansonville, Pa.
