Give your wallet a break and see “Julie and Julia” free
“Julie and Julia” will screen from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, as part of Kent County Public Library’s “Film at Seven” series. The program focuses on unusual or quirky, often independent, films shown the first Monday of every month.
“Julie and Julia” stars Meryl Streep as the iconic Julia Child, and Amy Adams as Julie Powell, who attempted to cook 524 of Child’s recipes in a year. The movie is an adaptation of Powell’s autobiographical book, which was taken from the blog she kept while attempting to make it through Child’s cookbook. The movie is rated PG-13 and runs approximately 2 hours.
Pre-registration is required as the movies take place after the library is closed; make sure to arrive before closing time. To save a seat or more information, call 698-6440.
