Alice Madora Tudor, 87, of Dover, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009.
Friends of the late Alice Madora Tudor, 87, of Dover, may call on the family at noon Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where services will be held at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Tudor died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at home.
Born Jan. 17, 1922, on a farm near Wallville, Calvert Co., Md., she was the daughter of the late Willis Atwood Fowler and Nettie Lorena Elliott Fowler.
Mrs. Tudor attended a one-room schoolhouse and in 1940 graduated from Prince Frederick High School. She then moved to Baltimore.
She worked at the Linen Thread Company, manufacturing camouflage nets during World War II, then moved with her husband to Dover in 1949. The couple founded Tudor Electric, where she worked in the office for 30 years, retiring in 1984.
Mrs. Tudor was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Dover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters; a brother; and her grandson, Robert Thomas Haney.
Mrs. Tudor is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Henry Tudor Sr. of Dover; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert H. II and Susie Tudor of Dover; a daughter, Linda Shufelt of Dover; two brothers, Tom Fowler of Jewel, Md., and Bill Fowler of Friendship, Md.; a sister, Frances Arminger of Edgewater, Md.; a grandson, Aaron Haney; four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Haley, Kayla and Kasey; and two special friends, Eileen Haith and Karen Thomas.
Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.
