Donophan homers in another All-span victory

    The All-span softball team of the city of Dover’s Men’s Slow-Pitch softball league improved to 23-1 on the season after beating Bubba’s 29-4, July 21, at Schutte Park.

    Tim Riley pitched the win for All-span and also went 3-4 at the plate with three runs scored and four RBIs.

    Greg Donophan was 3-5 with a home run, three runs scored and five RBIs; Ron Probst was 5-5 with five runs scored and three RBIs; Dylan Freese went 3-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs; Kenji Greenstreet was 3-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs; Dave Warner went 2-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs; Kenny Brown was 2-3 with two RBIs; Mark Bauer went 3-4 with two runs scored; Rob Probst was 5-5 with two runs scored and four RBIs; Tom Paradee went 3-5; and Mike Dill was 4-5 with four runs scored and two RBIs.

Ralph’s rides two wins into first round of playoffs

    The Ralph’s Appliances/Dickey’s Barbecue/Buffalo Wild Wings/Milken softball team of the city of Dover’s Men’s Slow-Pitch softball league won its final two games of the season to finish at 25-1 as it enters the playoffs.

    Ralph’s first dispensed with the Chesapeake Utilities, 18-4, July 22, then downed Deuces Wild, 17-5, July 24, to finish the regular season.

    Over the course of the season, the team has piled up 375 runs while only allowing 154.

    Ralph’s will open the first round of the Western Division Championship playoffs as the No. 1 seed, playing Hertrich Capital at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, July 31, in Shutte Park, Dover.
