Local interior designer moves company from her home to its own shop.

Kim Hinzman has finally moved away from home – but not for the reasons you’d think.

Hinzman, who owns the Interior Elegance custom interior design company, recently moved the business out of her home and into its own shop on South Governors Avenue in Dover.

A graduate of City & Guilds in London, Hinzman said residential and commercial customers can expect honest advice when she gives consultations regarding window treatments, furniture, flooring, wall coverings, accessories and lighting. She either will recommend a particular piece or tag along on a shopping trip with a client to pick what best suits their needs.

“I really try to listen to my clients and give them what they want,” she said.

And with her strong background in decorative arts and historical restoration, she has the ability to layer multiple colors with relative ease.

Hinzman added she’s excited to have moved out of her home and finally have her own business, allowing her to separate family life from work life.

Interior Elegance, located at 1469 S. Governors Ave. next to Scotti Muffler Center, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments can be made if necessary at other times. Pricing depends on the job required and there is a consultation fee.
