Delaware National Guard postpones drill, readies for blizzard

Because of the severity and timing of the winter storm predicted to impact Delaware Feb. 4 and Feb. 5, Delaware National Guard Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Frank Vavala has approved the postponing of all scheduled events and training Guard members.

Meanwhile, Guard leaders and personnel are continuing to prepare to assist state and local agencies in the event Guard forces are needed.

The Army National Guard has moved its training and scheduled events to Feb. 13 and 14. Most notably, the change of command ceremony for the Assistant Adjutant General will be Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. at 1401 Newport Gap Pike in Belvedere.

The Delaware Air National Guard has moved its unit training assembly to April and its Enlisted Recognition Banquet to March 6.
