    • Capital School District students begin a new school year

    • With pencils sharpened and backpacks full Capital School District students began the new school year on Thursday. Dale Kevin Brown, principal at Booker T. Washington Elementary school viewed the new school years a fresh start. “It’s an opportunity for the kids to start over,” he said. “It’s a new year, with new attitudes and new beginnings.” Energy on the first day is always high, said Central Middle School Assistant Principal Dave Thomas. “The first day of school is exciting because the kids have two and a half months of pent up energy,” he said. “They’re excited to see their friends and meet their teachers.”
