With the holidays approaching, local groups are seeking donations of food, money, clothing, and presents for kids and seniors.

TA Turkey Farm began raising a handful of turkeys in 1979 and giving them to neighbors and friends as Christmas presents. This year, the farm is preparing to sell approximately 3,000 turkeys around Thanksgiving and approximately 600 turkeys for Christmas dinners.

Massey Aerodrome is a working, breathing airfield, a bit of a throwback to a time when civilian aeronautics, buoyed by the wartime experiences of the nation’s former military pilots, really took off in the United States.

Walmart’s representatives had said the store would be too difficult to find without a sign hanging high in the air on a pole. They also expressed concern people would miss the turn for the store, because drivers would not see the signs as easily.

The Camden VFW honored "The Greatest Generation" during Veterans Day ceremonies at the Post headquarters.

Though rain forced the ceremony inside, hundreds gathered to witness the unveiling of the Kent County Vietnam Memorial in Dover Nov. 11. DART's 12th annual Stuff the Bus Thanksgiving Food Drive started with a stop at the Dover ACME Nov. 10. By noon, the group had the back of the bus piled with goods for the Food Bank of Delaware, and had collected $200 to be used for more groceries. Kent County Levy Court approved more environmental friendly measures to be installed at the county wastewater treatment plant and for 15 parcels to be exempt from paying county property taxes at its Nov. 10 business meeting.

Officials will solidify economic, educational efforts as part of the weeklong trip to the Land of the Rising Sun.
